Olympique de Marseille are in talks to Roma midfielder Jordan Veretout as the ideal candidate to replace Boubacar Kamara who recently joined Aston Villa.

As reported by French L’Equipe, Marseille have opened talks with Roma over the signing of Veretout, based on Pablo Longoria’s excellent relationship with Roma, which enabled in the past deals for Pau Lopez and Cengiz Under.

This time around, 29-year-old Jordan Veretout – whose contract with the AS Roma expires in 2024 – is in talks to return to France.

Roma are currently seeking an opportunity to offload players after enjoying a rather successful transfer window so far, having bulked up their ranks with the new force of Nemanja Matic and now Paulo Dybala.

The 29-year-old midfielder joined Roma on loan with an obligation to buy in 2019. On August 30, 2021, in the second round of the 2021-22 Serie A season, Jordan Veretu made a nice pass to help Roma beat Salinitana 4-0 away. On May 26, 2022, Veratu won the UEFA Champions League with Rome.
